Firefox SMS Systems Privacy Policy

SaveCell is the application from Firefox SMS Systems Ltd that backs up your mobile phone contact data securely, automatically, instantly and inexpensively.

Security of your contact data has therefore been central to our thinking throughout the development of the SaveCell product and service.  It follows that our commitment to you regarding the privacy of your own data is crystal clear.

The three headlines of our policy are, we will not:

1. Attempt to decrypt your stored contact data in the SaveCell Vault - even if you ask us to.

2. Pass-on or sell your data to any third-party.

3. Send spam emails.

In more detail:

Policy Details

1.  We will never attempt to decrypt your stored contact data - even if you ask us to:
Your contact data is stored in a high level of encryption (see FAQs) which can only be decrypted with the Scramble Key you entered on your phone at Registration with the SaveCell Service.  Your contact data will be stored in its encrypted format in our secure SaveCell Vault for as long as you continue to pay your SaveCell Subscription. In the event that you decide to stop the service we may delete your contact data as part of our business-efficiency process.

2.  We will never pass-on or sell your data to any third-party:
We will never routinely give, sell, rent or share any of your personal information with any third party, without your express permission, unless required by law. Firefox SMS Systems Ltd will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

(a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Firefox SMS Systems Ltd or the site;

(b) protect and defend the rights or property of the Company and its web sites, and,

(c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Company, its web sites, or the public.

3. We will never spam:
We may occasionally send you notifications of new product updates and other relevant SaveCell information to your email address, but you can turn these off.

What data do we have access to?

A)  For the SaveCell application to work we store the bare minimum of data, namely; your mobile phone number; your phone's IMEI number (15-digit number that uniquely identifies each mobile phone in the world); your IMSI number (your SIM card's serial number) and your chosen User Name.  We combine your chosen User Name with your mobile telephone number to create an Account for you in the SaveCell Vault.

B)  To enable you to use some areas of the SaveCell Website such as the SaveCell Forum we also store your e-mail address. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your Website registration details and Website password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one).  We do not require your email address to subscribe to the SaveCell Service.

C)  To enable you to use "Wipe My Contacts" via the Website (to delete your contacts on your mobile phone remotely - for example in the event of its loss or theft) you will need to enter your Mobile Phone Number, User Name and Scramble Key. This is the only circumstance in which you will ever be asked for your chosen Scramble Key.  It is used as a one-off authorisation code for your protection (i.e. for the technically-minded the Scramble Key is used as a transient variable) and is then thrown away by the SaveCell Service.  It is not stored by the SaveCell Vault or anywhere in any for by the Company.
